The Intention

The intention of this retreat is simple: To reconnect with yourself in a clear, grounded way.

Throughout our time together, we will move through yoga, meditation, ceremony, nature, reflection, and community to support the process of coming back home to the body, the breath, and the wisdom within.

You don’t need to have it all figured out. Just come as you are, be open to slowing down, tuning in, letting go, and allowing yourself to receive.

Retreat Location

Our retreat home for Return to Self: Journey to Tulum is Kaaba Luum Hotel & Retreat Center, a private jungle property in the Tulum area of Mexico.

Kaaba Luum offers private villas, gathering areas, pools and lounge spaces, housekeeping, 24-hour security, and beautiful surroundings for practice, rest, and connection. The setting gives us space to step away from daily responsibilities and experience Tulum with intention.

Your Retreat Guide

Return to Self: Journey to Tulum is designed and led by Dana A. Smith, CEO and Founder of Spiritual Essence Yoga & Wellness.

With more than two decades of experience in yoga, meditation, energywork, wellness education, and retreat facilitation, Dana will guide the daily yoga practices, meditation, reflection circles, and group experiences throughout the retreat.

Each part of the journey has been selected to support the intention of slowing down, reconnecting with yourself, and creating space for what comes next. Participants will also receive preparation and guidance before traveling to Tulum.

The experience is designed to give you guidance throughout the journey while also allowing time to receive and integrate what unfolds.

Daily Yoga

Dana will guide yoga practices on each full retreat day to support the intention and flow of our time together.

Practices will be created around the energy of each day and may include grounding movement, gentle flow, restorative yoga, breathwork, and reflection. Each class will give you space to connect with yourself and carry the retreat intention into the rest of the day.

This retreat is open to a range of yoga experience levels. Options will be offered so you can participate according to your experience, energy, and individual needs.

Meditation and Reflection Circles

Dana will guide meditation and reflection circles on each full retreat day to support the practices and experiences we share. These gatherings offer time to slow down, reflect, and connect with yourself and the group. You may share as much or as little as you choose.

Our first evening will include an opening intention circle. On our final morning, we will gather for breakfast and a closing reflection before departure.
