I’ve never done yoga, which class should I take?

Our Intro to Yoga class is the best starting point for those new to yoga. This class gives new students an overview of yoga and its history. Yoga poses, breathing techniques and the Vinyasa (flow) method are introduced.  Most students take 2-4 intro classes before moving to other classes.

What do I need to bring to class?

YOUR BEAUTIFUL SELF. Everything else—mats and props—will be provided for you. You are more than welcome to bring your own, should you have them. Mats are also available for purchase.

What should I wear to class?

Comfortable, close-fitting clothing that allow for body alignment to be visible and accurately assessed.

How early should I get there?

If you are new to the studio please plan on arriving 10 minutes early to fill out registration paperwork.  Returning students can arrive 5 minutes early to get situated. Centering and meditation are done in the first few minutes of class so if you will be late please wait at least 5 minutes after class has started before entering. Establishing presence in the beginning really sets the tone for your practice so it’s best to try to be on time.

Can I eat before I come to class?

Yoga practice is best done on an empty or near-empty stomach. It is advisable to eat no less than 2 hours before class.

If I have a physical injury or limitation can I still practice?

If you have any physical concerns please let your instructor know BEFORE class starts. We can teach you modifications to accommodate your body’s abilities. Always listen to and respect your body – if something doesn’t feel right, please let us know immediately.

Can I bring my child to class?

The minimum age to attend classes is 13 years old.  Classes are not appropriate for young children.  Exceptions may be made on occasion.  Please contact us in advance to discuss bringing your child with you to class.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel your class reservation we ask that you cancel at least 2 hours before the start of the class.  You can cancel online or by calling the studio at (301) 574-FLOW (3569).  Class cancellations made less than 2 hours before the start time may still be deducted from your pass.

No calls no shows will be deducted from passes no exceptions.  If we cancel class for any reason we will notify you via email and in some cases by phone.
